Scholarship Assistance

This year we are implementing a Scholarship Committee through the parish to help allocate scholarship funds to families in need. The following steps need to be followed for any families who wish to apply for financial aid:

STEP ONE: Apply for Step Up for Students.
Step Up For Students provides K-12 scholarships for low-income school children. Does your family qualify for the free or reduced lunch program? If so, you may qualify for this program too. Students who qualify may receive more than $4,000 for private school tuition. A separate $500 transportation scholarship is also available to attend a public school in another county. Visit the website: www.stepupforstudents.org

STEP TWO:  Apply for Parish Scholarship Assistance.
Families not qualifying for Step Up for Students that need assistance need to complete the following process:
1. Submit a Private Schools Aid Service form. This is available through the Main Office and is sent by you directly to the third-party agency. It requires submitting information such as tax return statements.
2. Submit a Letter of Hardship. Please type a letter explaining your family situation and what kind of assistance you need, along with your contact information. This letter should be submitted to the principal.
3. Await contact from the Scholarship Committee. All applications are reviewed by a Scholarship Committee through the parish. They take into consideration the amount of scholarship funding available, the needs of each family, and allocate monies as necessary. They may wish for additional clarification on issues and contact families prior to making final decisions.

Parish families will be given priority, but remember that we try to help all our families as much as we can. If you have any concerns or questions, please contact the principal.. And also, donations of any amount to the scholarship fund are welcome at any time!
