Focus:
The LMC is an important factor in the academic success of the students at Resurrection Parish Catholic School. The use of its facilities and resources is essential in providing students the opportunity to find, use, and evaluate information from a wide variety of resources. Information literacy is a critical life skill for all students, providing a foundation to function in a society that is information intensive.
Goals:
The Media Specialist should enable students to do the following:
• strive for and achieve success
• explore the universe through various and appropriate media
• develop appropriate research skills and techniques
• strengthen their understanding of the various resources available
• become aware of the programs available in the Library Media Center
• access materials which support classroom learning
• develop enjoyment of recreational reading
Library Hours
This school year, the LMC will operate on a fixed schedule for all grades.
Conduct:
• Students are expected to talk softly while in the library so that they will not disturb other students who are reading or researching information.
• Students are expected to be responsible in the following ways: return books on time and in the same condition in which they were borrowed; treat furniture, displays, and other items with care; and be accountable for their own actions.
• Students are expected to come prepared, to pay attention to instructions and maintain behavior appropriate to the planned activities.
